I recently used the WPS for a long time. Once in the production of phonetic Alphabet for children, the Internet search, did not find the right template or pictures available, had to make one of their own. After practice, the author uses the WPS form to make the Pinyin field character lattice.

Open the WPS table and select all the cells. Then click format → rows → row height. Set the row height to 17 in the Row Height dialog box, and then click format → column → column width, and in the Column Width dialog box, set the column width to 17 so that all cells become small squares.

Let's first set the format of the field character. Use four small square cells to form a field, select A4:b5 four cells, and then click format → cells to open the Format Cells dialog box.

Click the top Border tab to set the field character by its border. Select dashed from the line style on the right side, then click the Inside button on the top preset, select thin solid from the line style on the right, and then click the Outline button in preset above, and then click OK to exit. Such a "field" character lattice will be made well.

Next, click the Print Preview button in the Common toolbar to see if the field character meets your requirements. Of course, the main purpose of our preview is not to see the "field" character, but to let the window appear on the right side of the border dotted line.

Keep the selected state of the a4:b5 four cells, point to the fill handle in the lower right of the selection, and then drag the mouse to the right border dotted line to the right, and set a line of fields by AutoFill.

Then we'll set the format of the pinyin grid. Select cell A1:ab1 in the first row, click the Merge and center button, and then open the Border button's Drop-down menu and select all borders. To keep the cell selected, point to the padding handle at the bottom right, drag the mouse over the third row, and set the Ruby. At this point, the height of the pinyin grid is 1.5 times times the field character, not in line with the normal, we will adjust later.

Select A1:ab5, and then drag the fill handle down with the mouse to fill it down. Because the phonetic aligning is higher, also need to adjust to make it lower, so fill to more than the lower boundary several lines.

After the fill is finished, we will lower the height of the pinyin grid. The author uses the sorting method, wants to put the phonetic lattice together, the result has not been realized. Later, success was achieved by means of screening.

Enter B in A,ac4:ac5 in cell ac1:ac3 outside the boundary line. Then select Ac1:ac5, and drag the fill handle down to the end of the table. In this way, the line at the end of the pinyin grid corresponds to a, the field of the end of the line is B.

Click AC1, and then click data → filter → AutoFilter-a Drop-down list button appears to the right of the AC1 cell. Click the button and select "A" from the Drop-down list box, and then only the line at the end of the edit window is "a".

Select the rows, click format → row → row height, set the row height to 9 in the Row Height dialog box, and click OK. Then click the Drop-down List button to the right of the AC1 cell and select all from the Drop-down list box, and the adjusted Pinyin field character will be all displayed.

Finally, the AC column is hidden or deleted, and then the table beyond the lower boundary is deleted, pinyin field word is done. Look, is it okay?

This method, the author has also been implemented in Excel. The only difference is that the column width in Excel is not the same as the WPS table, and in the WPS table we set the width to 17, while in Excel the column width is set to 2.
