Recently, articles on how Linux's user experience works are overwhelming. Opponents also publicly indicated that Linux is still far behind Windows in terms of user experience. Recently, articles on how Linux's user experience works are overwhelming. Opponents also publicly indicated that Linux is still far behind Windows in terms of user experience. Therefore, I decided to find a way to test which operating system of Linux and Windows has a better user experience.

Theoretically, such a test is very difficult, but in practice .... It is quite simple. The key point is to propose a method that can describe the task, and then compare the running results of the two operating systems. The problem is that these two operating systems are fundamentally different. But... Finally, the solution is found.

Both operating systems can run the same browser: Firefox, which often requires Flash plug-ins installed. Firefox plug-ins and Flash plug-ins are developed by the same company, in this case, the installation of Firefox is a good way to test Windows and Linux systems.

For the system, I chose the latest versions Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04. The Flash plug-in installation test adopts two methods: automatic installation on the web page and manual installation. You only need to complete these two programs to view the results.

The following is the test process:

Install Firefox on Windows 7:

1. Open the Firefox browser.

2. Click the link to download the Adobe Flash plug-in.

3. Click "Install now.

4. Restart the Firefox browser when prompted.

Tip: in Windows, you can perform the preceding operations only when you have the Administrator permission. If you do not have the Administrator permission, you must perform the following operations:

1. Download the Firefox XPI extension of the Flash Player Plug-in.

2.decompress the downloaded extension file named .zip.

3. Click Start> Start, enter "% APPDATA %", and select OK.

4. Find the Mozilla \ Plugins \ Folder. If the directory does not exist, create the directory by yourself.

5. Copy flashplayer. xpt and NSPWF32.dll in the decompressed folder to the directory % APPDATA % \ Mozilla \ Plugins.

6. Restart the Firefox browser to install the Flash plug-in.

Install Flash manually on Windows 7:

1. Download The Flash player from the Flash Player download center.

2. Select save when prompted.

3. Open the folder you saved.

4. Double-click the file you downloaded.

5. Select "agree to accept the terms ".

6. Follow the installation wizard.

7. Open the Firefox browser. If Flash is successfully installed, you will be able to see Flash in the plug-in list. If Flash is not displayed in the list, the installation will fail.
