Getbasename Method

Returns a string containing the basic name of the file (without the extension), or a folder in the provided path description.

Object.Getbasename(PATH)

Parameters

Object

Required. The name of FileSystemObject.

Path

Required. Specify the path of the file or folder and return the basic name of the component.

Description

If the path does not contain any files or folders and the specifiedPathParameter Match, thenGetbasenameReturns a zero-length string ("").

The following example illustrates how to useGetbasenameMethod:

Note: GetbasenameMethod can only providePath. It cannot try to analyze a path or check whether the specified path exists.
