There are not many tools for playing VCD in Linux, but it does not mean that playing VCD in Linux is not good. For example, MpegTV and Xmovie play well. Of course, it also has its own advantages and disadvantages. for example, Xmovie cannot play a VCD with a common suffix of. date. MpegTV can solve this problem well.
It must be noted that the video can only be viewed under the "root" user. the larger the computer memory, the better the playback effect, remember to copy the voh_sdl.so file in the software package to the/usr/local/lib/mtvp/voh/Directory (if this path does not exist, create it yourself ). In addition, remember that the MTV program and MTVP program in the folder after installation are inseparable.
Next, to ensure the connection between applications and libraries, run the following command in the installed Directory:
Ldd mtv
Ldd mtvp
Through these two commands, you will find that the libraries connected to the two programs, if there is no connected library, you need to set the environment variables: FOO = bar; export FOO
With the above command, you can officially start watching the disc. Double-click the mtv program under X Window to bring up the main Window of the player. Mtv can directly read files from different places. if you click "Play VCD" in the "File" menu, you can directly enjoy the VCD disk in the optical drive.
