Visual svn is an easy-to-use svn software.

1 Overview

Svn has become a popular code control tool, but are you still worried about configuring it on the server side? Do you need to install and configure apache every time you install the server? Are you still depressed about the creation and permission control of the command line user?

Visualsvn solves all the problems you face above. It actually improves our work efficiency by n times.

Visualsvn is completely open-source and free. Of course, its client is not free, but it doesn't matter. There are too many free versions on the client for us to choose from. TortoiseSVN is a good choice. unfortunately, I am not introducing the use of the client here. If you are interested, you can go to the official website to learn.

2 Installation

First go to the official website to get a version of http://www.visualsvn.com/server/download/

3. Use

It is also very easy to use. Here we will briefly introduce some of the most basic functions.

First open the visual SVN management interface:

 

 

3.1 create a code repository:

Right-click Respositories, select create, and enter the name.

The check box below selects whether to use the default folder. if selected, three folders, trunk, branches branch, and tags tag will be created by default;

3.2 Create users and groups

Similar to creating a repository, you can add different users to a group. This is very simple and will not be introduced.

3.3 control permissions:

Visual SVN is convenient when controlling permissions for different repositories and folders,

Select Respositories, right-click properties, and delete the everyone permission (we do not want everyone to view all repositories );

3.3.1 set repository permissions:

Right-click the repository properties to set permissions.

 

3.3.2 folder permission settings

Folder permission settings are the same for warehouse operations. We can control the operations on the specified problem list based on the situation. For example, we can control that tt3 users cannot access the code folder.
