Today, with the popularity of personal computers, our daily use includes personal privacy behaviors, such as websites visited and pictures stored. Maybe our computers are not used by individuals alone. We do not want these traces on our PCs to be discovered by others. How can we hide and even disappear these traces? Below I will introduce some tips to protect some of our personal privacy traces.
The first thing we need to do is set up a separate login account for us and make sure that our password is not simple or easy to guess. Open the Start Menu, enter "User Account" in the search box, and click "create password" or "create password for your account" in the pop-up window:
After you enter the custom password, a new password is successfully added to the current user. You must verify the password when entering the account at startup. Otherwise, the password cannot be entered. If your password is a last resort, follow these steps to open the user account window and click "Change Password.
Then there is a resource manager history. Anyone who has some experience using computers knows that our search history will appear in the drop-down list box when any user is using it. How can I close it? Open the Start Menu, enter gpedit. msc in the search box, and press enter to confirm. The Local Group Policy Editor window is displayed:
Choose "user configuration"> "manage template"> "Windows Components"> "Windows Resource Manager", and find "Disable display of recent search entries in the Windows Resource Manager search box ":
Double-click to open and select Enabled:
Click OK. In this way, the history stored by Windows Resource Manager is no longer stored in the search drop-down menu, protecting our privacy.
Alternatively, you can delete the history of all open documents when the computer is shut down. In the Local Group Policy Editor, choose user configuration> Manage template> Start Menu and taskbar, find the option "Clear history of recently opened documents when exiting the system", double-click it, and select enable and OK.
In this way, we can delete the history records of the files we opened when we shut down, ensuring that we can quickly view the history records of the current boot when we start the system, however, records can be automatically cleared during Shutdown to protect privacy. If you want your computer to keep its historical records completely, you can also find "do not keep the history of recently opened documents" in the same item and double-click to open it, after you select start, click OK to make the change take effect:
In this way, the history of opening the document will not be saved when we use the computer.
When we use a computer to browse images, we occasionally see a hidden file called thumb. db. What is this file? This is the cache file of the corresponding image for users to preview images in Windows. That is to say, if someone obtains this thumb. db, then the other party can open thumb through some third-party software. although it is not clear that the thumbnail image is extracted, it is also a leakage of personal privacy. So how can the system no longer create thumb. db files for images? Choose "user configuration"> "management template"> "Windows Components"> "Windows Resource Manager", and click "Disable thumbnail cache in the hidden thumb. db File:
Double-click to enable and click OK to make the change take effect. In this way, our system will not create the thumb. db file for the file.
Today, I have introduced some tips that can protect personal privacy. I hope these tips will help you when you use your PC.
