In many home LAN networks or small-sized offices, there is often only one ADSL Broadband "cat", in order to allow other computers in the LAN to surf the Internet, many people will use one of the computers as the LAN proxy server, and connect the ADSL Broadband "cat" directly with the computer, and ensure that the computer is always in the open network status, in this way, other computers can share the Internet through the proxy server.
However, this method of shared dial-up Internet access is obviously inconvenient for home users or office users. After all, no one is willing to keep their computers running as lan proxy servers. Some people may say that you can also use the route function provided by the ADSL Broadband "cat" to achieve shared dial-up Internet access? But if the ADSL Broadband "cat" in our hands does not support the routing function, or the local ISP has already restricted the routing function, how can we achieve ADSL shared dial-up Internet access?
In fact, we only need to find another way to make every computer that first accesses the Internet automatically act as the LAN proxy server, and let other computers in the LAN automatically share the Internet through the computers that first access the internet. The following article will contribute to the ADSL shared dial-up Internet Access idea and specific configuration process, so as to help you better perform the ADSL shared Internet access operation!
Thoughts on ADSL shared dial-up Internet access
Use a straight-through twisted pair to connect the RJ-45 port of the ADSL Broadband cat to the UP-LINK port of the switch or hub, at the same time, the home LAN or other computers in the office of the Organization are also connected to the switch or other common ports of the hub through twisted pair wires, and then the ADSL Broadband "cat" is connected to the local ISP through a common telephone cable.
Then, install the proxy server software and the virtual dialing application on each computer in the LAN. the proxy server software used here is SyGate4.5, the virtual dialing application is a virtual dialing program that comes with Windows XP.
Then, configure appropriate parameters for each computer that requires dial-up Internet access in the LAN to enable the computer that requires dial-up Internet access to automatically become the LAN proxy server, and allow other computers in the LAN to automatically share the Internet through the proxy server, and the proxy server role is not limited to a fixed computer, any computer in the LAN may play the role of a proxy server.
Through this shared dial-up Internet access solution, we can dial up the Internet independently on the home LAN or any computer in the office, or share the dial-up Internet access on multiple computers at the same time. For ease of description, this article is now based on two computers installed with Windows XP in the office of the Organization. I would like to explain to you the specific operation process of this shared dial-up Internet access.
Preparations before ADSL shared dial-up
To allow two computers in the office to share an ADSL Broadband "cat" for Internet access, we need to first purchase an eight-port hub or switch in the market, the two computers in the office are directly connected to the common ports of the hub or vswitch through twisted pair wires, at the same time, a direct cable is used to connect the RJ-45 port of the ADSL Broadband "cat" with the UP-LINK port of the switch or hub, connect the ADSL Broadband "cat" to the local ISP through a telephone cable, and ensure that the connection is smooth. The ADSL Broadband "cat" should work properly when working independently.
After preparing the physical connection, we need to install the agent server software SyGate4.5 on the two computers in the office. The software can be downloaded from the Internet directly, during the installation process, when the wizard prompts you to select the working mode, you must select the "server mode" and use the default settings for other parameters.
Next, you need to create an ADSL dial-up connection for each computer in the office. When creating an ADSL dial-up connection, you can use the Connection Wizard provided by Windows XP. the creation process is as follows:
First, right-click the "Network neighbors" icon on the Windows XP desktop, and execute the "properties" command from the shortcut menu to open the network connection List window on the local computer; in the "Network task" Area of the window, click the "Create a new connection" link to open the new connection wizard window, and click the "Next" button, go to the network connection type selection interface shown in.
Next, select the "connect to Internet" project in the interface, click the "Next" button, and select the "manually set my connection" option in the Wizard window that appears, click "Next", select "connect with a broadband connection with the required user name and password", and set the name of the broadband connection, enter the user name and password of the broadband dial-up, and click "finish" to create an ADSL dial-up connection.
Configuration in ADSL shared dialing
After completing the above preparations, we also need to configure the network parameters of each computer so that each computer can automatically use the other computer as the LAN proxy server, to achieve shared dial-up Internet access. When configuring network parameters for each computer, follow these steps:
First, right-click the "Network neighbors" icon on the Windows XP desktop, and execute the "properties" command from the shortcut menu to open the network connection List window on the local computer; in this window, select the local connection icon, right-click it, and click "properties" from the shortcut menu to open the attribute setting window for the local connection, click the "General" tab in the settings window to open the tag page, as shown in.
Select the "Internet protocol TCP/IP)" item on the tab page, and click the "properties" button to enter the TCP/IP attribute settings window, as shown in.
Select "Use the following IP Address" in the settings window, set the IP address of the first computer to "192.168.1.10", and set the IP address of the second computer to "192.168.1.11 ", set all network mask addresses of all computers to 255.255.255.0, set the gateway IP address of the first computer to 192.168.1.11, and set the gateway IP address of the second computer to 192.168.1.10 ". Note that when multiple computers exist in the Organization's office, you must add the IP addresses of other computers in the LAN to the gateway IP address of the local computer through the advanced settings window.
Next, select "Use the following DNS server address" and enter the actual DNS server address provided by the local ISP in the text box that is activated later, the DNS server address entered in this article is "61.172.7.1". After setting all network address parameters, click "OK" to complete the network parameter configuration operation. Of course, if the local ISP has already bound the NIC address, we also need to modify the physical address of the NIC of each computer to ensure that each physical address is the same as the physical address of the bound Nic.
In addition to configuring network parameters, we also need to make appropriate settings for the agent software in each computer to ensure that each computer that first accesses the Internet can automatically become a proxy server in the LAN. When configuring Proxy Server parameters, you only need to make the following settings:
First, open the SyGate4.5 application interface, and configure the NIC parameters of the local computer through the "Configuration" menu in the SyGate Manager.
Run the "Outgoing Connection Settings" command to set the local Internet access mode in the subsequent interface. Here, we must select "Etherne" to enable LAN Internet access sharing; run the "Internal Network Settings" command to set the LAN Internet access parameters in the subsequent interface. Here we only need to Select "Select Manually ", select the NIC device of the local computer.
Execute the "Dialup Settings" command, and we can set the dialing. Here we only need to select "Never hang up" to make the ADSL dial-up connection on every computer always online. In addition, we also need to go to the "Options" Page and select the "Auto-star internet sharing" project to enable the local computer to automatically start Internet sharing services.
After the network parameters and the configuration of the proxy server are completed, any computer in the organization's office will start and run with the system when it starts to run, in this way, the SyGate program can automatically set the computer with the dial-up Internet access as a proxy server and automatically start the Internet sharing service on the corresponding computer, in this way, other computers in the office can share dial-up Internet access through proxy servers.
If you need to shut down a computer that needs to dial up to access the Internet for various reasons, you only need to re-dial the computer in the office to continue accessing the Internet separately. This shared dial-up method is not only suitable for two computers, but also for more computers. Through this method, we can easily make any computer in the LAN, at any time, the only ADSL Broadband "cat" can be used for dial-up Internet access.
Of course, in the process of accessing the Internet from any computer, we must turn on the power of the switch, hub, and ADSL Broadband "cat.
