Xmanager in the CDE landing interface may encounter landing is not directly returned to the landing interface, the small series of this episode with you to analyze the occurrence of this situation.
Problem Description:
When the correct login information is entered and ready to log in to the CDE interface, it is returned to the login screen.
Note: This article requires remote server configuration and may require administrator privileges. Also, if you need to set up an initial environment, refer to: Xmanager How to set the initial desktop environment for CDE
Cause Analysis:
There are a number of possible causes for this problem, such as:
1. You do not have sufficient permissions to access/overwrite your home directory
2. You do not have sufficient privileges to write in the/dev/null file
3. Invalid explicit display variable settings
4. Improper operation during the Dtlogin login process
Workaround:
For each possibility, you can try the following solutions:
1) You do not have sufficient permissions to access/overwrite your home directory
Users must have write permissions regardless of whether the user's home directory is on a local drive or NFS. Contact your system administrator to set up 6 * * Permissions in the home directory.
2) You do not have sufficient privileges to write in the Dev/null file
Change permissions to 666 in the/dev/null file
3) Invalid explicit display variable setting
Locate the explicit display value in it and delete it. The display value can be set explicitly, then XDMCP can be used normally. However, if it is not set correctly, it can easily cause XDMCP to fail.
4) Improper operation during the Dtlogin login process
Restart the Dtlogin program or try reinstalling it. Of course, you need to contact your system administrator before doing this.
