We use mobile devices like tablets to use mobile broadband more. The following is a description of the solution when a mobile broadband device is locked or blocked.
Unlock Mobile Broadband devices
If your mobile broadband device has a PIN, the device will automatically be locked when you turn off the computer, enter hibernation mode, or remove the data card from the computer. The next time you start your computer, recover from hibernation, or insert a data card, the status of the device will appear as "Device locked." Please follow these steps to unlock it:
View the list of available networks in the following ways: Swipe from the right edge of the screen, click Settings (if you use the mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, then move the pointer down, click Settings), and then click or click the Network icon.
Click or click the name of the mobile broadband connection, and then click or click Connect.
Enter your PIN, and then click or click OK.
Unblock mobile broadband devices
You cannot use a PIN to unlock a mobile broadband device when it is blocked. The status of the device will be displayed as blocked. To unblock a device, you must enter the unblock key (sometimes called PUK) obtained from the mobile broadband provider. You will also need to create a new PIN during the unblock process. Follow these steps to unblock your device:
View the list of available networks in the following ways: Swipe from the right edge of the screen, click Settings (if you use the mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, then move the pointer down, click Settings), and then click or click the Network icon.
Long press or right click on the mobile broadband network, click or click "View Connection Properties", and then click or click the "Security" tab.
Click or click "Unblock device".
Enter the unblock key, enter and verify the new PIN, and then click or click Unblock Device.
