After a period of intimate contact with the Windows 8 system, you may already have a good understanding of the tile feature. However, this feature automatically displays personal privacy information by default, for example, the latest QQ notification message or the content profile of an e-mail message that exposes personal privacy.
To protect privacy, we can do the following to force Windows 8 to automatically clean up the contents of the tile cache when performing a shutdown system operation:
First use the "Win+r" function key to bring up the System Run dialog box, enter the "gpedit.msc" command, click the "OK" button to open the System Group Policy Editor. In the list on the left-hand side of the editor, expand the User Configuration, Administrative Templates branch by using the mouse, and locate the Start menu and taskbar subkeys under the branch.
Second, in the right list for the right subkey, double-click the clear tile notifications and history when exiting System Group Policy, eject the Properties dialog box for the Group Policy, check that the Enabled option is selected, and if it is not already selected, select it now, and then press OK button to save the setup action.
In this way, every time a user logs off or shuts down the computer system, everything in the tile cache is automatically cleaned up, and the tile information will be displayed as the default when the user logs back into the windows.
