Download Ubuntu_XP_by_ShamusHand from the Internet and install it.
To simulate linux, vim is indispensable. Download vim for windowsand put the extracted vim.exe file in the windows/system32 directory. Then, input vim in dos to start the file.
Then gimp, pidgin, and so on all have corresponding windows versions. These things are like security. Of course, if there is no linux shell, cywin is definitely required, and everything will be OK.
