Recently, Zenoss published the results of its open source cloud computing survey. More than 100,000 of community members were interviewed, and the survey was designed to understand how they felt during the open source cloud deployment process, the pros and cons of the technology, and whether there was an in-depth understanding of future open cloud deployments within the IT department.
Respondents included more than 600 IT professionals, including http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13879.html "> System administrators and architects, developers, network engineers, and CIOs." Obviously, OpenStack dominate, but Cloudstack and eucalyptus have a tendency to rise.
The findings mainly include:
Open source cloud deployments are affected by immaturity
1, 82.8% of respondents said they were not using open source cloud.
2. Maturity issues (38.4%), lack of support (30.7%), and security issues (28.7%) are the main reasons why they do not use open source cloud.
OpenStack dominated, cloudstack and eucalyptus followed.
1, 63.2% Open source Cloud Deployer use OpenStack, and cloudstack and eucalyptus ratio is 47% and 23.5% respectively.
The future of open source cloud is bright
1, 57% of respondents said they would consider deploying open source clouds in the future, and 41.2% said they would use them in the next year or two.
2. The 3 most focused issues in open source cloud solutions are: the effectiveness and performance of virtualization Technology (75.1%), the preferred open source license (52.1%) for project use, and the quality of Community ecosystems (64.3%).
