This is a story about a girl called Emma.
Emma is eight-year-old,she is very little.She lives with her mother at the fo
ot of a high mountain,her father past away when she was even younger.Her family
is very poor ,her mother is sick for a long time because she overworked .And now
she only lies on bed ,can not do anything.Emma has to do everything,to wash ,to
cook ,to pick up wood,to help her mother wash body.
Although Emma is very tired,she is still very happy.She always climb the moun
tain to get some fruits .And she seems know what fruit is better for her mother.
She always sings when she pick up fruits.The songs were taught by her mother.She
loves her mother so much that she often cries for mother's sickness.But she nev
er cries before her mother .
Sometimes Emma sits down by the tree ,and thinks who can help her and her mot
her .She dreams and dreams.She never knows that when her parents came here,they
promised to each other that they would not go back to city.If they went back to
city ,they will be aparted by their parents. After a short break,Emma has to go
home to take care of her mother.
Mother is silent all the time and tears always appears on her face,so Emma tr
ies her best to weave some jokes ,and these jokes make her mother happy.Emma lie
s beside her mother and asks her mother to tell more about her father.
And gradually,Emma knows that her father fell off when he went down the mount
ain.That day ,her father wanted to find a special flower for her mother in order
to celebrate the three-year marriage .He did not find one until the weather got
black.So that evening, mother did not call her husband back.She cried when the
villagers took her husband's body home.
Emma was sad for her father.She thinks that if father would not die,her famil
y will lead a joyful life,and mother will be well .Smiles will go back to mother
's face.But father is away ,I'd help mother to get better .
Emma works hard,she does not go to school.She becomes more and more busy,she
seems to do more things.She treats her mother better and better.But she seems no
t happy any more.
One day ,Emma was very thirsty when she works on the mountain.Suddenly,she sa
w a man standing in front of her .He smiles at her.Emma smiled back,and she said
,Dad, I miss you so much.Dad did not say anything ,just smile ,ans watch at her
.Emma slowly cried,Dad,I am so tired.I don't have more energy to work ,please ta
ke me away .Dad nodded.Emma said ,I don't have any energy to say good-bye to Mum
.I would have a good sleep.Please let me sleep.
Emma died .Her mother is crazy.
