Dilemma(一個很好的英文哲思故事)

I heard this story from a friend:

It is a stormy night, with strong wind and heavy rain. You're driving car and pass a station, and there are three people waiting bus.

One of them is an older dying person, who is very woeful.

One is a doctor. He had saved your life. You really want to return him for his help.

The other is a woman/man. She/He is the person of your dreams. You feel she/he is the reason that you came into the world. If miss the chance, maybe you will never find her/him again.

But your car only has two seats, so you can give only one person a ride. Who will you choose? Why?

1.The old man will die, so you should help him first. But death is every old man's end.

2.You pick up the doctor first, because you feel indebted to him, and this is a good chance to show your appreciation. But you can do this sometime in the future.

3.Usually, the chance that destiny gives you will quickly pass. If lose it, you may never meet again. But how can you leave the old man to die! And how can you leave your ......... alone in the rainy night?

What is your decision?

A man gave a better answer, he didn't explain the reason, just said these words:
To give the key of the car to the doctor, let him take the old man to go to the hospital, and I will stay with my dream girl to wait for the bus together.

(That is a very good idea, but few people had thought of it. Why? Because people never thought about to abandon the right or ascendance that they already have (the key of the car)?
Sometimes, if people can abnegate something, maybe can achieve more.)
