Intel release open source OpenGL API-based 3D graphics drivers for Linux on 965 Express chipset

昨天漏說了
OpenGL還有另一條出路
那就是Linux
現在Intel把driver也給open了
這下大家可以好好看一下瓶頸在哪

天知道Intel那2000+人的Graphics的team
為省成本IGP裁掉了hardware vs
單支援hardware ps
而且driver連個soft vs都懶得寫
有點感覺是在PC上打不過人家
跑Linux上想獨大

大家聽過IBM和食人族的故事吧
我想這也是Intel這一個暗夜精靈分支現狀的原因
除非是Intel故意深藏不露
或者是刻意迴避反壟斷法

Intel has released open source 3D graphics to give Linux full-fledged support for accelerated OpenGL on the newest generation Intel 965 Express chipset graphics architecture which will be used in the Intel’s new Core 2 Duo “Conroe” processor, being released next week. The 965 Express family includes support for programmable vertex, geometry, and fragment shaders.  By open sourcing the drivers for this new technology, Intel enables the open source community to experiment, develop, and contribute to the continuing advancement of open source 3D graphics.
