本節將使用乙太網路 PPPoE 數據機來設定 ADSL 互連網串連。

You will require a subscription with an Internet Service Provider, and an installed, functional Internet connection. Most modems have a light which will be lit if it is currently connected to the Internet. You will also need your username and password for the Internet account.

4.2.1. 配置PPPoE

若想設定數據機：

   1.

      開啟一個終端(應用程式 ▸ 附件 ▸ 終端)
   2.

      在終端，輸入

      sudo pppoeconf

   3.

      一個基於文本呢的菜單程式將指導你通過下列步驟：
         1. 確認您的乙太網路卡已被檢測到。
         2. 輸入您的使用者名稱。
         3. 輸入您的密碼。
         4. 若您曾經配置過一個 PPPoE 串連的話，您會被詢問是否需要改變其設定。
         5. Popular options: you are asked if you want the “noauth” and “defaultroute” options and to remove “nodetach”. Choose Yes.
         6. 使用 peer DNS－選擇Yes。
         7. Limited MSS problem - 選擇 Yes。
         8. 當您被詢問是否要在啟動時串連，您通常會想選“是”。
         9. 最後您會被詢問是否要立即建立串連。

      一旦您完成了這些步驟，您的串連應當就可用了。

4.2.2. 開啟串連

要開啟您的ADSL串連，在終端（應用程式 ▸ 附件 ▸ 終端）裡鍵入：

sudo pon dsl-provider

4.2.3. 中斷連線

要停止您的ADSL串連，在終端（應用程式 ▸ 附件 ▸ 終端）裡鍵入：

sudo poff dsl-provider
