Lubuntu v11.04發佈 羽量級節省能源的變體

2006年，臺灣HTTP://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/7155.html">開發人員洪任諭（筆名PCMan）推出了第一套開源元件（稱為PCMan檔案管理器），開始了所謂「 羽量級X11桌面環境」（即LXDE，基於GTK++ 2，遵守GPL v3規則）的全球開發熱潮，此舉一發不可收拾。 實際上，既然社會有這種實際需求，比如，筆記本電腦，MID和智慧型電話等，就必然會產生強大的社會推動力。 在LXDE的基礎上，有關開發團隊緊緊咬住Ubuntu開發時程表，推出了一款新的羽量級Ubuntu發行版本，起名為Lubuntu。

Lubuntu是Ubuntu快速、羽量級且節省能源的變體，它使用LXDE（Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment）桌面。 它旨在面向低資源配置系統，並被主要設計用於上網本、行動裝置和老舊個人電腦。

Lubuntu is an Ubuntu derivate using the LXDE desktop. It's designed to be a lightweight and easy-to-use desktop environment.

Lubuntu is actually not part of the Ubuntu family, and not build with the current Ubuntu infrastructure. This release is considered as a «stable Beta », a result that could be a final and stable release if we was included in th e Ubuntu family.
