XWiki is a WikiWiki clone written in JAVA that supports many popular features of other Wikis like the Wiki syntax, version control, attachments, security, and searching, but also many advanced features like templates, database and dynamic devel opment using the velocity or groovy scripting language, a plugin system and skinability, J2EE scalability, XML/RPC remote API, Portlet integration, statistics, an RSS feed, PDF exporting, and WYSIWYG editing.

Changes: There are a few new features and many improvements in stability, code quality, and build practice. The top new features are the ability to export wiki documents to office documents and a new UI exposing the PDF customizat ion options. Among the most important changes are the migration of the sources from SVN to GitHub, changing the minimal JDK version req uired to 1.6, and migrating from commons-logging+log4j to slf4j+logback.
