The index of the object to be counted as an array
Declare–a shells//associative array must be defined in advance

Associative arrays can only be traversed by index, whereas ordinary arrays are traversed by number

You can actually count the number of shells in a single command.
Awk–f ":" ' {print $NF} '/etc/passwd |sort |uniq–c
