1. "All is the trouble of the network card!"

Failure phenomenon: A motherboard integrated network card, under Windows XP can automatically install the driver, and has correctly configured the network protocol and related parameters, but in use when the network is always disconnected phenomenon.

Response measures: First of all, we must ensure that the driver of the network card is correct, it is best to use the driver attached to the network card manufacturer, or according to the network card model to drive home (http://www.mydrivers.com) and other sites to download the corresponding driver. After the NIC driver is installed, you should be able to see the current installed network card under Device Manager, if the network card has a yellow exclamation mark on the front, the system has a network card installed, but it has a conflict with other hardware. If there is a resource conflict, the device that conflicts with the network card and the interrupt number or input/output address are given in the conflicting device list in the Resources tab, then we need to manually allocate the resource. 2. "Insufficient network resources!"

Failure phenomenon: A computer connected to the local area network, access to shared resources are normal, copying a few MB or dozens of MB of files over the network is also normal. But once you've copied hundreds of megabytes of files, you'll get a "low network resource" prompt, and then you won't be able to find your "Internet neighborhood" anymore.

Response: Because computer connectivity and sharing are normal, indicates that network connections, network protocols, and software settings are not problematic, but because of the need for frequent data reads when copying a large number of files, this requires a relatively stable transmission environment, if there is interference in the entire network line will make this stable environment is damaged, A network failure has occurred. But hubs, routers and switches and other network devices are not very sensitive to external interference, so the biggest interference may appear in the network card or network link.

For a stand-alone PCI network card, if the internal structure of the chassis is relatively compact, the network card installed in the slot next to the video card, sound card and other cards, may cause electromagnetic interference between these cards, resulting in the copying of large files when the error prompts. The solution is to plug the NIC into a slot farther away from the video card or sound card.

3. "Why don't you let me ping?"

Symptom: There are two computers in the local area network A, B can connect to computer C and use the resources, but a, b between the two computers can not ping.

Response: Since you can connect to other computers, this shows that there is no problem with network connectivity and network protocols, so it is primarily a matter of software attribute settings. Because the ping program uses the ICMP protocol, most of this failure occurs when the firewall software is installed on the other computer and the ICMP protocol is blocked. So you need to check your computer's firewall software settings to see if the ICMP protocol is blocked.

In addition, after you open the firewall that came with the system in Windows XP SP2, it will automatically block some of the most common network features. For example, when a computer in a network uses ping to detect network connectivity, you will see the error message "Request timed out", but after the "Allow incoming echo Request" Item is checked under the ICMP tab (as shown in Figure 2), You can get normal feedback by running the ping command again.

4. "My online neighbor is missing!"

When you install file and Print sharing services, you can click the Install button in the Local Area Connection Properties window to select Services, and select File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks in the Network Services window.
