Although AJAX-style technology has been in use for many years, it was not until recently that the XMLHttpRequest object was adopted by modern browsers, which opened a new era for the development of rich Web applications. In this chapter, we discuss the basics of the Ajax core (that is, the XMLHttpRequest object). We learned about the methods and properties of the XMLHttpRequest object, and demonstrated a simple example of using the XMLHttpRequest object. As you can see, this object is fairly simple, and you don't have to consider many of these complexities. With the proper use of JavaScript and the basic DOM management, AJAX provides a high degree of interactivity that cannot be done on the web before.
The 1th chapter has mentioned that the use of XMLHttpRequest, you do not have to completely refresh the entire page, nor limited to the server can only sync sessions. In the next few chapters, we'll explain how to combine the server-side technology you already have with the unique capabilities of XMLHttpRequest to provide highly interactive Web applications.
