Basic use of Kettle 1

1, kettle of several sub-program functions and start-up mode

--windows Environment
Spoon.bat: Graphical interface to start the job and transform the designer. (most commonly used)
Pan.bat: The command line method performs the conversion.
Kitchen.bat: Executes the job on a command line basis.
Carte.bat: Start the Web service for remote run of kettle or
The cluster runs.
Encr.bat: Password encryption

--linux Environment
Spoon.sh: Graphical interface to start the job and transform the designer. (most commonly used)

2, spoon graphic interface design conversion and job

The Kettle Spoon Designer is used to design transformations (transformation) and job (Job).
The conversion is mainly for the various processing of data, a conversion can contain multiple steps (step).

A job is a higher level of processing than a conversion, a job consists of multiple job items (Job Entry), a job item represents a job, and a conversion is a job item.

3. Save the job

Transformations, Jobs, database connections, etc. created by the user through Spoon can be saved in the resource pool and XML file .

--Convert file to ktr as extension, job file with KJB as extension
--The resource pool can be a variety of common databases. The resource pool can be created automatically in Spoon, and the repository default user name and password is admin/admin.
