Brocade vswitch initialization experience

1. A console line. Generally, a switch will have a random device.

 

2. Use the laptop's Super Terminal to connect to the vswitch through the console line

 

3. default IP address of the vswitch: 10.77.77.77; netmask: 255.255.255.0

For ctor: 10.77.77.77 (logical switch 0), 10.77.77.76 (logical switch1), *. 75 (cp0), *. 74 (CP1)

 

4. Set the password: there should be four types of passwords: factory, root, admin, and user. If you do not set the password, you can use Ctrl + C to cancel it. Generally, the Administrator uses the admin account.

 

5. Set the IP Address: ipaddrset sets the IP address and gateway. Use ipaddrshow to check whether the setting is correct.

 

6. Set the time. The default value is North America time. Use date to set the time. You can also use the tsclockserver command to synchronize with the NTP server.

 

7. Set the time zone. If the time zone is Beijing, tstimezone + 8 is used. Note that the time zone takes effect after the next restart.

 

8. Add a license: if you do not buy a license, the Web license, zoing license, and fabric license are provided by default.

If you have bought another license, such as extend license, you need to use licenseadd to add the license. You can view the licenses currently available in licenseshow.

 

9. set timeout: for example, timeout 10, which is set to 10 minutes. The setting takes effect after the next logon.

 

10. Set the switch name: Use switchname to set the switch name. We recommend that you do not have duplicate switchnames.

 

11. Set the switch domain ID: Disable the switch first, use switchdisable, and use the configure command to set the domain
Id. After the configuration is complete, use switchenable to enable the switch. Note that the domain ID is unique in a fabric and cannot conflict with each other. Otherwise, fabric may occur.

12. Create a zone configuration: first create alias. We recommend that you use host name + port or host name + WWN to set it and use the alicreate command.
Create zones, use zonecreate to create it, use create region to create the zone configuration file, and use show to view the zone information.
