Characters allowed for the problem in the feature value

In the code page, the (hexadecimal) code is assigned to a specific character. In the SAP environment, code that does not have its own display format, such as printing control letters, is displayed /#/. Assign the language to the Code according to the used character set.

In the SAP environment, the characters that have not been changed by the translateto upper case command are used as uppercase letters, for example,/a // A // or /! //! /. The result of this command is language-related. For example, the // character is // German and expressed as/A/in French /. The special code does not represent uppercase letters in all languages. For example, it indicates German // and the code in lower case of Russian/SCH.

In order to specify variable input of uppercase and lowercase letters in unrelated business browsers, change the input mode (using the convert to uppercase commands) to uppercase letters. If multiple languages, such as German and Russian, are installed on the application server, converting to a large write command will invalidate the code being generated. In this example, the German/code is converted into a big write command to generate an uppercase version of the Code in Russian/SCH.

Valid characters

For this reason, only the specified standard Default Characters are allowed in the feature value:

! "% &'' () * + ,-./:;? _ 0123456789 abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

All characters in the language are in uppercase and belong to seven American ASCII characters.

If you want to allow feature values that contain invalid characters in the system, change
SAPBusiness Information Warehouse Customization.

Note:

  • Characters in all languages installed on the system and added to the valid character list must be in uppercase.
Once a valid character is specified, installation of any language is prohibited. Installing other languages compromises the amount of available data. For example, the characters allowed before the new language may become lowercase letters. Converting to a large write command will cause rework on the hexadecimal display of the string, and feature values cannot be selected.
  • Note the language with a large number of country special characters
  • Special Currency characters

Invalid character

The following characters are not allowed in feature values and may cause errors in the system:

  • #
  • !
  • The hexadecimal format is displayed as a control letter between 00 and 1f. If lower-case letters are allowed
  • A character with a hexadecimal code that represents a small letter in the installation Language
Lowercase letters can be confirmed for any character. You can select the lower-case letter option to change the settings of the information object maintenance screen in the General tab. If this identifier is selected, the system cannot run the consistency check for the feature value, and the system cannot distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters on the maintenance screen of variables. The character is valid only in the local system.
