Ls-l usage

1th column:

D Mark Directory-Mark normal file L Mark Link file B Mark block device C indicates serial port device s identifies socket file

R Read W write x Execute, top 3 owner user rights, middle 3 bits belong to group permissions last 3 other non-native group permissions.

2nd Column:

Inode, which is related to how many sub-directories are in the directory.

3rd Column: Owner

The 4th column: said Group

5th column: File size

Columns 6th, 7, 8: Date Modified

9th column: File name
