Clever fixing of video vulnerabilities makes computer systems no longer false

Many people have this experience. When a large AVI video file is clicked in Windows Resource Manager, Windows may be suspended, when you view the "process" tab in "Windows Task Manager", you will also find that the CPU usage of the assumer.exe process is 100%, and this process will last for a long time, sometimes you have to force shutdown to solve the problem.

In fact, this problem occurs because of a Windows vulnerability. When you click a large AVI file in Windows Resource Manager, Windows scans the file and tries to query the index of the file. If there is no index information in the file, Windows executes a loop to check all the parts of the file for indexing. When the AVI file is large, it takes a long time for Windows to scan the entire file. In this way, the CPU usage of the assumer.exe process will reach 100%.

As the saying goes: since this is caused by a Windows vulnerability, you should install the Windows Patch and download and install the latest Windows Patch to solve this problem.

If you do not want to update the system patch or cannot update the patch in other cases, open the "my computer" window, find the file for saving the video file, right-click the folder, in the shortcut menu that appears, select "properties". In the "properties" dialog box that appears, under the "General" tab, click "advanced" (see figure 1 ), in the "Advanced properties" dialog box that appears, remove the option "allow the Index Service to compile the index of this folder for quick search" (see Figure 2 ).

 

 

 

In addition to the above methods, you can also enter the "regsvr32/U shmedia. dll" command in the "run" dialog box to cancel the video preview function of the system, so as to solve the problem of system false positives.
