Clock Synchronization in Linux

The following example uses the IP address of the clock source server as 192.168.0.1. You can run ntpstat and ntpq-P to view the native ntpd service status. After the configuration is complete, you must restart the ntpd service ntpd restart.

[Server settings]

1. Modify the NTP. conf file in/etc/as follows:

Server 127.127.1.0 minpoll 4 maxpoll 5

Fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 2

Restrict 127.0.0.1

Driftfile/var/lib/NTP/drift

2. Set the content of ntpservers in the/etc/NTP file to null.

3. Modify step-tickers in/etc/NTP as follows:

127.127.1.0

[Client settings]

1. Modify the NTP. conf file in/etc/as follows:

Server 192.168.0.1 minpoll 4 maxpoll 5

Fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 3

Restrict 127.0.0.1

Driftfile/var/lib/NTP/drift

Logfile/etc/NTP. Log

Restrict 192.168.0.1 mask 255.255.255.255

2. Set the content of ntpservers in the/etc/NTP file to null.

3. Modify step-tickers in/etc/NTP as follows:

192.168.0.1
