Combat Repair Disk Array raid-d volume

In order to improve the performance of the server, many network management RAID-5 to the server. But in the course of use, if there is a failure, how to fix it? The repair method for the RAID-5 volume is different from the repair of the original disk and the replacement of the original disk.

First, do not replace the original disk repair RAID-5 volume

If the RAID-5 volume does not cause a problem due to a physical failure of the disk, it is simpler to fix, and the steps are as follows:

First check to see if the failed disk is properly connected to the computer. Make sure that the data cable and power cable are working properly, and second, open the Disk Management window and right-click the disk that appears as missing, offline, or online (wrong) to perform the Reactivate Disk command (Figure 1).

If the disk does not have a physical failure, the reactivated disk should display an "online" status and the RAID-5 volume will begin "Resync". All "RAID volumes" will revert to "in good condition" when the synchronization is complete, and the failure has been effectively repaired.

Second, replace the original disk repair RAID-5 volume

The worst thing is that the disk is physically faulted and cannot be repaired. When you right-click the failed disk, the reactivate Disk command on its shortcut menu is unavailable, and you can only use the delete disk command. This is a serious situation and the repair steps are slightly more complicated.

First, replace the same type of disk, and then set the disk as a dynamic disk as described earlier, and then, in the Disk Management window, right-click the failed disk, execute the Recover volume command from the pop-up shortcut menu, and open the Recover RAID-5 Volume dialog box.

Click to select the damaged disk letter that you want to replace in the disk list, and click OK to begin the repair. Right-click the damaged disk after the repair is complete, and remove the disk from the RAID-5 volume by performing the delete disk command on the pop-up shortcut menu.
