Configure and use the virtual environment virtualenv and linuxvirtualenv in Linux

1. Install

Sudo apt-get install python-virtualenv

 

2. Use

Create a virtual environment:

Virtualenv [Virtual Environment name]

Example: virtualenv python27

 

Activate the virtual environment:

Source ~ /Workplace/python27/bin/activate

 

Installation Library:

Example: pip install numpy

When installing some libraries such as tensorflow, the following error may be reported: cocould not find any downloads that satisfy the requirement tensorflow. This is generally caused by the pip version being too low. Check the pip version:

Pip -- version

 

Then update pip:

Pip install-U pip

Then reinstall pip to install tensorflow.

 

Run the following command to check which packages are installed in the current environment:

Pip freeze

 

Exit the virtual environment:

Deactivate

 

Delete a virtual environment:

Rmvirtualenv [Virtual Environment name]
