You can then enter VIM or Gvim to open the Vim editor. Then downloaded the Vim nerdtree plugin. Follow the online approach to first
git clone https://github.com/scrooloose/nerdtree
Then build the ~/.vim/plugin and ~/.vim/doc directories. Copy the Plugin/nerd_tree.vim and Doc/nerd_tree.txt to the ~/.vim/plugin and ~/.vim/doc directories respectively.
Then you can enter it after Vim starts: Nerdtree to bring up the tree directory. There was an error in my case:
It turns out that I installed the plugin in the plugin directory. In fact, it should be said that other files in the Nerdtree folder overwrite the installation in the Vim73 folder.
