Create virtual machine role in Azure Pack Practice Series 3 of Microsoft private cloud

Source: Internet
Author: User

In Azure Pack for Windows and later WAP versions, there are two types of virtual machines deployed through the tenant portal, one is an independent virtual machine and the other is a virtual machine role.

The type of an independent virtual machine is the same as the Virtual Machine template used in SCVMM. The template is usually deployed only for the operating system and has poor customization. The scalability after deployment is basically absent.

The Virtual Machine role type is similar to the service template in SCVMM. It can be customized according to enterprise or individual needs, or some software or applications can be installed, giving users more flexibility in use, it can be expanded after installation, especially for scenarios such as WEB servers and SQL instances.

This article takes a long time to go directly to the Usage Phase of the WAP Virtual Machine role. In fact, some preparations should be made in the early stage, such: in SCVMM, set the disk file operating system type, FamilyName, and Tag used by the Virtual Machine role), import the resource extension package, and place the disk file in the shared library. In WAP, You need to import the corresponding library item resource definition package. I will explain how to implement these preparations in detail.

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 558 "height =" 141 "title =" clip_image004 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image004 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235ML6-1.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

OK. Next, set up how to create virtual machine roles and use some extensions.

1. log on to the WAP tenant portal by using the tenant. Under the Virtual Machine item, click Create-Virtual Machine role-slave database, and then click Create Virtual Machine role from database ", the wizard for creating and setting virtual machines appears.

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 557 "height =" 307 "title =" clip_image005 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image005 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235G1b-2.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

2. on the "virtual machine role configuration" interface, select the previously created or imported library item resource definition file. In this practice, there is only one "domain controller-Windows 2012". (Note: for details about how to create or import data, see Series 2.) Click "right arrow" in the lower right corner ".

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 558 "height =" 401 "title =" clip_image007 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image007 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235H619-3.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

3. On the "provide virtual machine role Settings" Page, enter a name in the "name" column. Note that this name is only the name of the Virtual Machine role. It is not the name displayed in HyperV and SCVMM, not the computer name ." The version after "version" is set during creation and import. You do not need to modify the import, but cannot modify it in VMM or customize it when importing the resource extension package ). Click "right arrow" in the lower right corner ".

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 557 "height =" 404 "title =" clip_image009 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image009 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235GE2-4.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

4. on the "Virtual Machine properties" interface, you need to set the attributes of the VM to be created, including: the number of CPU cores, memory size, disk files used by the operating system disk, local administrator password, and time zone are displayed after the gray bar drop-down, but do not need to be set ). The specific settings are described in the following steps. Note that they are all configured on this interface.

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 558 "height =" 402 "title =" clip_image011 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image011 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235L026-5.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

4-1. Select the hardware configuration size for the new virtual machine:

6. It is the progress in WAP, but it is very bad that the information provided is too simple, with only a few words. I hope there will be some improvements in the new version, so we can get the detailed progress in the VMM, but if there are too many, will it affect the experience? haha. Tangle)

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 558 "height =" 350 "title =" clip_image021 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image021 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235L4R-10.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

7. This is the progress status in the VMM console. This is more detailed.

9. Here, two diagrams are used to describe the domain creation process:

On the VMM console, when the job status is 99%, it will take some time to consume. After observation, from 99% to completion, it is the time to upgrade the independent server to the domain controller.

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 558 "height =" 309 "title =" clip_image027 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image027 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235J511-13.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

12. Click "instance" in the 1st icons in 11. The name of the VM is displayed here.

You can manage the lifecycle as follows: Create, connect, delete, start and stop, and modify and scale.

Click "zoom" to modify the Virtual Machine size and add the same Virtual Machine instance.

In combination with "role", "instance", and "Scaling", do you know about the virtual machine role and Virtual Machine instance.

The role contains one or more instances, and the instance can be expanded.

13. The dashboard of this instance is displayed. Note that the dashboard must be separated from the role's dashboard.) The experience is quite good. At least I like it very much:

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 557 "height =" 337 "title =" clip_image043 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image043 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235J551-21.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

14. the attributes of the created VM role are as follows, this is one of the reasons why the Virtual Machine role is created quickly!

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 558 "height =" 332 "title =" clip_image045 "style =" margin: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image045 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235L4V-22.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

15. Finally, log on to the newly created role DC Server and check whether it is the same as the one you set.

650) this. width = 650; "width =" 557 "height =" 363 "title =" clip_image047 "style =" border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "alt =" clip_image047 "src =" http://www.bkjia.com/uploads/allimg/140110/04235L194-23.jpg "border =" 0 "/>

Afterwards: This article does not mention how to manage the Virtual Machine instance through WAP connection, which is also important in my subsequent articles: use the console and remote desktop for management.
