Comparison of string interception functions between MySQL database and SQL Server database
MySQL string intercept function: SUBSTR (string string,num start,num length)
String is the original string,
Start is the starting position (starting at 1),
Length is the size of the truncated string;
SQL Server string intercept function:SUBSTRING (string string,num start,num length)
String is the original string,
Start is the starting position (starting at 1),
Length is the size of the truncated string;
In addition, SQL Server provides two simple string intercept functions:
Left (string string, num length) intercepts the leftmost length character of a String
Example:Select Left (' sql_server_2008 ', 4);
return Result: Sql_
Right (string string, num length) intercepts the rightmost length character of a string
Example:Select right(' sql_server_2008 ', 4);
Results returned: 2008
