how many are in the statistics file? Line , how much Word , and how many characters.

WC Syntax :

[Email protected] ~]# WC [-LWM]

Options and Parameters:

-L : Only the travel is listed;

-W : Lists only the number of words ( english word );

-M : how many characters;

Use WC statistic /etc/passwd by default

#wc/etc/passwd

1719/etc/passwd # + is the number of words,1719 is the number of bytes.

The WC commands are relatively simple to use and each parameter is used as follows:

#wc-L/etc/passwd # Count The number of rows that are used when the number of records is

40/etc/passwd # indicates that the system has nine accounts

#wc-W/etc/passwd # Count word occurrences

45/etc/passwd

#wc-M/etc/passwd # number of bytes in the statistics file
