Iii. Use xiangjie in msconfig

When using computers, friends will certainly encounter various problems: for example, how to manage self-starting programs on a computer, how to view loaded system services, and how to extract lost system files from the installation disc.

To solve similar problems, Microsoft provides a system configuration Utility (msconfig) in the system ).
After logging on to the system as a system administrator, click Start> Run and enter msconfig and press enter to start the System Configuration Utility (figure 1 ). The following example describes how to use msconfig (using WINXP as an example) in detail ).

(Figure 1) general options. In fact, there are other options
The "general" option is not general

1. Select the Startup Mode

By default, Windows uses the normal startup mode (that is, loading all drivers and systems ).
Service), but sometimes the device driver is damaged or the service is faulty, which may lead to startup problems. In this case, you can use other startup modes of msconfig to solve the problem. Click
Select "diagnose startup" in "Startup Mode" (Figure 2) as the "General" option, which helps us quickly find the cause of startup failure. In addition, you can select "available Startup Mode" and follow the prompts to check
Select the project to be started.

(Figure 2) Diagnostic startup only loads basic drivers and services
TIPS:Diagnostic startup means that when the system is started, only the drivers of basic devices, such as graphics card drivers, are loaded without modem, Nic, and other devices. Services are only required by the system. At this time, the system is the cleanest. If there is no problem at startup, you can load the devices and services in sequence to determine where the problem is.
2. Extract missing system files from the installation disc

Although WINXP provides powerful file protection functions, sometimes system files are often lost due to software installation/uninstallation or misoperations. Generally, important system files can be found in the system installation disc cab file.

Extract files from the installation disk to the System
TIPS:
You can use the system SFC command to scan system file changes and find the changed system file. Command Format: SFC [/scannow] [/scanonce] [/scanboot] [/revert] [/purgecache] [/cachesize = x]
/Scannow: scan all protected system files immediately.
/Scanonce: scans all protected system files at next startup.
/Scanboot: scans all protected system files at each startup.
/Revert: returns the scan to the default setting.
/Purgecache: clears the File Cache.
/Cachesize = x: sets the File Cache size.
3,View the system. ini and win. ini files.
System. ini contains information about the entire system. It is a file that stores important configuration information required during Windows startup. Windows
Overview (such as window boundary width and system font loading ). Pass
Msconfig allows you to quickly view and edit these two INI files. For example, you can click the "win. ini" file on the main interface to view the details of the file (Figure 4). If you want to disable an option
You only need to select the target and click "Disable". Similarly, you can click "edit" After selecting the target to edit the project (click the return key to delete the project ). System. ini
Same as above.

The menu items for multiple start operations are controlled here.
Boot. INI is a key file for system startup. Improper modification may cause the system to fail. We recommend that you back up the file before modification, after modification, click "check all startup paths" in Figure 5 to check the file.

4. Clearly view the service
We know that many system services will be started with windows, and some software often registers some of its components as system services, especially after some viruses/Trojans are registered as system services, they often hide in the background and are not easy to detect.
How can I check the services that have been run by the system and registered with other software? Click "service" on the main interface. msconfig lists all the system services. In the "Basic" option, you can also check whether the service is a basic service of the system, the service provider and running status can be known through the "manufacturer" and "status" (figure 6 ).

Here we can see the service provider and running status
To start the stopped service, you can start the service with a small check before the service name. Check "hide all Microsoft services". The system services registered with other software are listed (figure 7 ).
Vendors can determine whether the service is a virus/Trojan. For example, the author's computer's "Norton Antivirus automatic protection service", the manufacturer is
Corporation is a service registered by Norton Antivirus software. The yzw service is extremely suspicious and has been checked as a Trojan.

You can disable unnecessary services.
TIPS:To view the service details, right-click "my computer" on the desktop and select "manage". In the displayed window, expand "Computer Management (local) /applications and services/services, you can see all services and detailed descriptions in the right window.

5,Manage self-starting programs
Self-Start Programs are various programs started with windows. They can be automatically loaded after being started (some viruses and Trojans often enable the "hacker" system on their own ). Add
There are many places to load self-starting programs, such as "events and settings/All Users
/Start folder and registry key value under the "Start" menu/Program "Directory
For example, [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/policies/Explorer/run]
.
I have introduced a lot of software that specifically manages self-starting programs on the Internet. In fact, msconfig's self-starting management function is not inferior to these software. Click "start" on the main interface.
All self-start projects on the computer (figure 8) are displayed. The names of the startup projects, the path and the startup location of the programs are listed. For programs started in the registry, it also provides detailed key-value prompts without opening the registration.
Table Editor, such as C:/Windows/system32/ctfmon.exe
(System input method program), it is through
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/run
Started.

You can also control system startup.

For abnormal self-starting programs such as Trojans, you can use the msconfig prompt path to scan and kill them.
