I am not interested in Java on Gae. What I pay the most attention to in this upgrade is that gae finally has cron. feedzshare needs to regularly capture the feed, and can only find another machine to regularly access feedzshare for activation without cron. cron has always been my most desired feature. find the document and download the latest SDK (remember to go to the English webpage, do not go to the Chinese page, and the Chinese page still has 1.1.0, what the hell ?). The cron job on Gae regularly calls a URL on your app to implement scheduled tasks. the processing of this URL has the same time limit as other response. up to 20 jobs can be created in an app. You can specify the trigger time or interval. The minimum interval is one minute. cron can access the URL that admin can access, therefore, to ensure the security of the task URL, you can set only Admin Access. adding cron is easy. Create cron in the root directory. yaml, which describes the cron URL and sets the schedule time and target URL. then use appcfg to upload yourCode. I created a feed grabbing job for feedzshare, which took only five minutes. with Cron, my most expected new feature is full-text search. in fact, Gae has already had a basic search API, but its function is very simple and has not been made public.
