In the flex help document production (asdoc-html), I explained how to extract comments from my Flex project to generate a webpage help document, this method is also popular now, but many companies still need to provide help documents in chm format when productization. It seems that CHM documents cannot be directly generated in flex. If you have any readers, please contact me, I will also learn how to convert the generated webpage documents to the chm format. I spent a day searching for a lot of software and tried it for a long time. Many software are not so useful. I recommend far and RoboHelp here, but it is hard to find the RoboHelp version, and the English version is, I don't know much about it, but far is more convenient. Far installation is simple and skipped.

Open the far interface as follows:

Click "file"> "add file", as shown below, to add all the files in the HTML Help document. My documents are placed inside the reference_1 folder.

Click "CREATE"> "help express". The following page is displayed:

Set the primary homepage (the generated primary page should be index.html), the generated CHM file name, and click Create help. After that, you can click View help. The effect is as follows:

We found that far generated a directory for all HTML files, which is not the expected result. Copy the help document of the previous HTML file again, and copy it to E: in \ work \ HELP, use far to add all files and click Create-> help wizard. The following page is displayed:

Click Next to discuss the HHP creation interface, as shown below:

Click the Red Circle button. You need to create an HHP file in the root directory of your code. After you click it, a dialog box on the right appears. The location stores the code for you. Mine is E: \ work \ HELP. When you click "open", you will be prompted that the HHP file does not exist. Ask if you want to create it. OK. If you can write an HHP file by yourself, that is, the directory link information of your help document is directly imported in this step. We do not have this information. Therefore, the system will prompt you to create a directory, and the system will search for it by default, automatically create an appropriate HHP file, so I say you must select the correct location and the system will automatically recognize it. After confirmation, select continue. The following prompt is displayed:

Click Yes To Go To The HHP initial manual configuration interface, as shown below:

Refer is the default page, which corresponds to the package list page. You can set it based on your hobbies. Click the page and then the button. The effect is as follows:

Click "continue"> "continue"> "create directory". The following page is displayed:

Click Yes to edit the directory. The directory editing page is displayed. Preview is displayed on the right. You can delete the Directory and view the effect. I deleted many unwanted items and left the following interface:

You can also adjust the order, and click Save to close it. Then click continue to create and modify indexes, which is the same as the directory on the following interface:

Save and close. Click "continue". Enter the title and help document name and click "continue:

Click "help". Then, click "view Help File" to generate the help document we need, as shown below:

After the HTML page is generated, the reader can modify those interfaces as needed, and then package them to get other effects as desired.
