1. Software Environment:

OpenSUSE 13.1 x64

MySQL 5.6.20 x64

2. Install MySQL 5.6.20 with RPM package

# RPM-IVH mysql-server-5.6.20-1.sles11.x86_64.rpm# RPM-IVH mysql-client-5.6.20-1.sles11.x86_64.rpm# RPM-IVH mysql-devel-5.6.20-1.sles11.x86_64.rpm# RPM-IVH mysql-shared-5.6.20-1.sles11.x86_64.rpm

3. View MySQL Service

#/etc/init.d/mysql Statusmysql is not running                                                                                                    failedmysql.service   loaded:not-found (reason:no such file or dire ctory)   active:inactive (dead) 15:42:26 173-168-58-139 systemd[1]: Stopped lsb:start the MySQL database server.

Visible. The MySQL service is not started.

4. Start the MySQL service

#/etc/init.d/mysql startredirecting to Systemctl start mysqlfailed to issue method Call:unit Mysql.service failed to Loa D:no such file or directory.

Error, unable to start MySQL service.

Using the Systemctl method

# Systemctl Start Mysql.service

5. Solution

# Systemctl Enable Mysql.service

6. Start MySQL again
