Installation and deployment of ArcPad 10

ArcPad is an external ArcGIS product installed on handheld devices or mobile terminals. That is to say, ArcPad is a software product of Esri, not a hardware device. Although it is no more complex than ArcGIS Desktop functions, it is very rich in functions for field jobs, data collection, and other work.

First, install ArcPad on the PC. Run the CD and install ArcPad.

"ArcGIS Server ArcPad Extension" is another item on the page. Can this item be installed without installation? ArcGIS Server service, used only when synchronizing data. Take some time to sort out the functions, requirements, and applications of this part. The installation process is very easy.

During the installation process, the system prompts you to enter the verification code and ignore it. Then, ArcPad enters the evaluation mode. The first ArcPad 10 for Windows is the PC-side ArcPad program, which is functionally consistent with the mobile-side ArcPad.

The second ArcPad Deployment Manager is used to deploy ArcPad to a handheld device.

Handheld ArcPad deployment

1. First install the windows synchronization program.

Windows XP: Install Microsoft ActiveSync;

Windows vista or Windows 7: Install Windows Mobile Device Center.

2. After the above program is installed, connect the mobile device to the PC to ensure that the connection status is normal.

  

3. Open start-ArcGIS-ArcPad 10-ArcPad Deployment Manager.

Select the items to be installed in this form:
