Install LUA Editor on Debian

installing Lua on a Debian server

1) Download the compressed package

wget http://www.lua.org/ftp/lua-5.1.4.tar.gz

2) Unzip the file

Tar zxvf lua-5.1.4.tar.gz

3) installation files

CD lua-5.1.4

Make Linux

Error encountered at this time:

"luaconf.h:276:30:fatal error:readline/history.h: There is no file or directory #include <readline/history.h >",

Workaround: Comment out can not, Baidu a bit, get need to install ReadLine

Download readline-6.3.tar.gz

wget http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/readline/readline-6.3.tar.gz

Decompression: tar zxvf readline-6.3.tar.gz

CD readline-6.3

./configure

Make

Make install

At this point,readline has been installed.

Re-enter the Lua directory to install Lua.

CD lua-5.1.4

Make Linux

Make Linux Install

4) test whether the installation was successful.

Lua-v

[Email protected]:/var/lua# lua-v
Lua 5.1.4 Copyright (C) 1994-2008 lua.org, Puc-rio

Indicates that LUA has been installed successfully.
