Note: This command applies to OS X Mavericks and OS X Yosemite systems. For MAC users who still use OS X mountain Lion or earlier versions of the system, the commands need to be changed a little bit.

How to display hidden files and folders in OS X Mountain Lion and previous versions of the Finder

First step: Open the terminal application.

Step Two: Enter the following command:

Step three: Press the "return" key.

This way you'll see hidden files and folders in the Finder window.
