We can use content type syndication to implement the shared content types (content types) between different site collections in SharePoint farm ). that is to say, the administrator can specify a site collection for a metadata service to act as the content type hub. The content type hub is called the content type hub in Chinese. A Content-Type hub is actually a website set. It serves as a distribution center for the metadata service to store and publish content. It is a metadata service) you can publish the content type in the content type gallery stored in this website set to another website set associated with this metadata service. The advantage of this is to facilitate the organization and synchronization of enterprise content types. You can imagine that without the support of content type syndication, how complicated it is to maintain and manage the content types of many website sets.

1. How to configure a website set as a content type Hub)

To make a website set act as the content type hub, you must first enable the content type syndication hub feature. The method is as follows:

1. Open the website set you want to set as content type hub and go to its site settings

2. on the site settings page, find the site collection features Link under site collection administration.

3. Go to the site collection features Management page, find the content type syndication hub, and enable it (activate ).

 

2. Confirm the content type hub settings of the website set

1. Return to the site setting interface of this website set.

2. In the site collection administration column, locate content type Publishing.

3. This interface lists the metadata service (metadat Service) associated with this website set and the interface links used to manage content types.

If you click the managed metadata service link in, you will be directed to the centralized management interface of the corresponding content type.
