In practice, users often need to sum up the detail data in the WPS data table, and it may not be easy if users want to quickly summarize all the subtotals in the complex data schedule shown in Figure 1.

The following will show you how to use the common functions of the WPS table to quickly summarize.

Sum function Quick Rollup

The sum function provided by the WPS table can add a formula to the user's chosen area at once, so that users do not have to manually enter subtotals, totals, and total columns to achieve a quick sum.

Select data Range

First, the user only needs to gradually select the area of each subtotal, and the final result of the zone selection is shown in Figure 2.

Step 1 Use mouse to select B2:g7 area first;

Step 2 Press the key and use the mouse to select the B8:g12 and B13:g17 areas respectively.

Add Subtotal formula

Click the Summary button on the Standard toolbar (as shown in Figure 3) to automatically recognize the detail area and add the sum formula to a blank cell below the data and to the right.

At this point, all subtotals and total formulas in the selection area are automatically summed by the detail area, such as the following formula:

Subtotal below data: B7 formula: =sum (B2:B6) F17 formula: =sum (F13:F16)

Data right total: G12 formula: =sum (B12:F12)

Other formulas are similar and are no longer enumerated. Add the formula result as shown in Figure 4:

Add a Totals formula

Finally select the B18:g18 area, click on the "Standard" Toolbar Summary button to add a formula, then the mouse click the formula bar, and modify the equation to:

=sum (B2:B17)/2

Press the combination key at the same time to change all the formulas in the selected area at once, and complete the summary. The final rollup results are shown in Figure 5.

Tip tips:

1. When you add a formula for a schedule in step 1th, the selected range must contain a subtotal area, or the system cannot automatically add formulas to the subtotal area.

2. The "Total formula" originally added in step 3rd, because it contains subtotals for each column, you must modify the formula (the total number divided by 2) to correctly count the results.

3. Using key combinations, users can enter the same data or formula at once in multiple cells.

Summary:

1. This article uses the user to understand the WPS table the "Auto Sum" button on the Standard toolbar allows you to fill a formula once for a selected area.

2. In addition to using the SUM function, users use other general functions such as AVERAGE (average), count (count), and Max (maximum) to perform the same statistical principle.

Scope of application:

Applies to WPS Office 2005 and above.
