Wingate Use Tutorial

First, the necessary equipment

1. A main computer, on which the installer Win95 or Win NT 3.51 (3.5 seems not) and has a network card and connected to a modem (hereinafter referred to as the main computer)

2. One or several workstation computers, which must be connected with the main computer through the network card, currently unable to connect to the serial port or port!

Described below, is installed with two sets of Win95 for the environment. Before installing Wingate, you must determine two things:

Installation and setting of the main computer

1. Please determine whether there is a driver installed on the network card, and bind the TCP/IP protocol on the driver.

2. Install Wingate, wg1306.zip the WGsetup.exe, and fill in the server Name in each server, for example, SMTP server may be ms1.hinet.net,news The server may be netnews.hinet.net, etc., please fill in according to the setting that the ISP that you apply to give you. [DNS configuration] Select Start DNS, the main computer to fill in the computer name, such as: John Domain to fill in your ISP's domain name, such as Hinet.net. In the search order for the DNS server, fill in the IP of your ISP's DNS server, such as: 168.95.192.1. [DNS configuration] Select Start DNS, the main computer to fill in the computer name, such as: David (this computer name is not the same as the main computer, need to be unique) domain let it empty. In the DNS Server search order, fill in the IP of your primary computer, such as 192.168.0.1, fill in the [Add] domain suffix search order, let it blank, set the selection, and then leave.

2. To modify the Hosts file, please use the General text editor, find the Hosts file under the Windows directory, add a line as follows: 192.168.0.1 Gateway.
