It has been more than a year since I entered the company and now the management product has been released. During the past one year, the system upgrade has been released for dozens of times. So
I made some summary of the product release, as shown below:
1. The release content and release time must be notified to relevant stakeholders in advance.
2. The impact of the published content on stakeholders must be evaluated in advance and considered clearly. If the stakeholders disagree, they must record, discuss, and confirm the impact.
3. There must be a pre-assessment of the possible impact after the release, and make possible countermeasures, such as the arrangement for extracting possible O & M and customer service workload.
4. Try to avoid publishing during peak hours. Try to select a time period with a small number of users, and the 1 or 2 days after the release should also be a relatively small time period for users.
5. When publishing to the official version, try to perform more than one simulated upgrade and simulation test.
6. Make sure to publish system update logs or system announcements after the release.
7. If you need to stop the service during release, you must notify all stakeholders in advance.
8. After the release is complete, you must pay close attention to the monitoring status of the customer or O & M.
9. Back up data before release, just in case, you know.
In fact, all these matters should be summarized in one sentence to clearly inform the relevant personnel about what you want to do, make all preparations in advance, and prepare various emergency plans afterwards.
