Windows HyperTerminal Usage Tutorial

In order to make your network managers easy to the firewall, routers and switches and other network equipment on-site maintenance and management, the following terminal control platform, that is, the use of HyperTerminal to carry out a brief configuration instructions, please follow the following steps to operate.

Method/Step

1. Click "start" → attachment → communication → super terminal.

Click to go to HyperTerminal, as shown in the following image, as shown in the red box where you want to give the HyperTerminal a name.

In the Connection Description window, simply write any name to the Name column, and then click OK.

After entering the "Connect to" window, there are "country", "area code", "Phone number", "Connect use" and other entries, which only need to "phone number", "Connect using" two items to add/select,

Enter any number in the "phone number", and in the "Connect to use" in the need to select the corresponding COM port, where we select the COM1 port, as shown in the following figure.

After entering the COM1 Properties window, the following figure shows the main port settings.

In the COM1 Properties window, we simply click the revert to default button to automatically revert each parameter to a value that conforms to this connection property, or you can set it manually, as shown in the Figure red box.

After the parameters have been set in the previous view, click OK to enter the command Line Operation window for this HyperTerminal connection, indicating that the HyperTerminal connection has been established and the view is as follows.

After entering the command Line Operation window, the mouse clicks any blank in this window, ensures the cursor is in this window, after the continuous percussion, can configure and the operation to the connected network equipment, the figure Red Arrow refers to the position, is enters the network equipment user name place.
