Syntax
Sp_addrolemember[ @ Rolename =] ' Role ',
[ @ Membername =] ' Security_account '

Parameters

[@ Rolename =]'Role'

The name of the SQL Server role in the current database.RoleThe data type of isSysname, No default value.

[@ Membername =]'Security_account'

The security account added to the role.Security_accountThe data type of isSysname, No default value.Security_accountIt can be all valid SQL Server users, SQL Server roles, or all Microsoft Windows NT users or groups authorized to access the current database.

The following example shows the SQL Server userMichaelAdded to the current databaseEngineeringRole.

Exec sp_addrolemember 'engineing', 'Michael'







Delete the user in the role using the sp_droprolemember stored procedure. The syntax is similar.
