How to change the ESX server4.0 IP address

Online tutorials or instructions are more, but actually tested, as follows

Just a few simple steps:

Command one: esxcfg-vswif-i 10.0.0.1-n 255.255.255.0 vswif0 # Modify the Service console address (above 2 addresses are the IP and subnet masks to be changed)

Command two: vi/etc/hosts # Modify Machine IP Address

Command three: Vi/etc/sysconfig/network # Modify the machine name and gateway

Command four: Service network restart #使用此命令重启网卡

Where command four can also be implemented by rebooting, but not recommended
After the IP is modified, you can log on with the new IP

Remark Description:

1, for command Two, three, after the modification is complete, move the cursor to the space, press ESC, and then enter ": Wq", you can save

2, if it is 4.0 to modify the IP address and other information, the actual only need to run the command one, three or four can.

The VC console cannot modify the IP address information (which must be done via the command line), but can view the network card.
