How to deal with firmware upgrade failures of wireless Routing

With the rapid development of wireless technology, new technologies are constantly emerging, and users often perform wireless route upgrades to make the network more secure. Recently, the PConline evaluation room obtained the Linksys 300 M, 802.11n dual-band wireless router WRT320N, and firmware version V1.0.01.

After a long test, it is found that the wireless router will be locked if the standby time is too long. Specifically, when the computer connected to the lower end of the router does not perform network operations for a long time, the router enters the STANDBY state. However, when the computer is restored, the router cannot be recovered to the working state. No matter whether the computer sets DHCP to automatically obtain the IP address or manually set the IP address, it cannot be connected to the router, or PING the path.

The new WRT320N firmware V1.0.02 released by LINKSYS comprehensively solves this problem. We downloaded the new firmware from the LINKSYS official website. Under normal circumstances, we upgraded the firmware for wireless routing on the Wireless Router WEB management interface. We first download the latest firmware from the LINKSYS official Chinese website for use during wireless route upgrade, and then decompress the firmware file to a relatively easy-to-find folder, for example, in this wireless route upgrade, We will extract it to the router folder on the drive C.

The factory IP address of WRT320N is 192.168.1.1. The default Administrator account and password are all: After admin enters the management interface, select the "firmware Upgrade" option under the "Administration" project, click the Browse button to find the downloaded Upgrade file from the C drive router folder and click "Start to Upgrade" to Start the wireless route Upgrade. Generally, this process takes about two minutes and cannot be interrupted during the Upgrade. After the upgrade, the wireless router will automatically restart.

Old wine is anxious. After waiting for two minutes, I will manually restart the vro. As a result, after the restart, the vro power indicator will not stop flashing, The vro management interface will not be able to enter, and the routing function will not be enabled. An error occurred while upgrading the wireless route. I turned it into a "brick. It is estimated that some netizens have also met this situation. In the past, we generally used to return the route to the factory for repair. Now, don't worry. You can use the TFTP Command to send the firmware file to the vro to continue the upgrade. First, we connect the computer with a network cable to the lanport of the wireless router, and modify the IP address of the computer to the same network segment as the router, for example, if the initial IP address of WRT320N is 192.168.1.1, we can set the IP address of the computer to 192.168.1.2 ~ 254.

Click "run" in the "Start Menu" And Enter CMD To Go To The DOS command interface. Then, go to the folder router where the firmware file for upgrade is saved. The downloaded firmware file WRT320N is displayed. BIN is ready to perform the next operation. After the following response appears on the screen, wait for two minutes after the router restarts automatically to complete the firmware transfer and wireless route upgrade process. The power indicator is also on normally. At this time, you can log on to the Wireless Router WEB management interface again.

At this point, all the wireless route upgrades have been completed. If the upgrade fails, you can repeat the above steps. In addition, you can use the TFTP Command to transmit the router firmware to fix the damaged wired and wireless routes, which are not only applicable to LINKSYS products. It is also suitable for some models of wired and wireless routers such as network, D-LINK. However, you must note that some products need to distinguish between models and hardware versions. For example, the LINKSYS classic model WRT54G has eight or nine hardware versions, their firmware files are different. Therefore, before downloading the firmware files, you must first find out which product you have purchased. Generally, the product model labels on the back of the route are marked. Do not make any mistakes.

There is a risk of upgrading the firmware of a wireless route. Generally, if your router has no problem, you do not need to upgrade the firmware of the wireless route. The new firmware may provide some features that were not previously available, for example, if there is no Chinese menu in the past, you can upgrade the firmware to make the router into a Chinese operation, or the telecom operators in some regions in China use special means to restrict the routing. By refreshing the firmware, you can break through the blocking. However, before the upgrade, please learn more about how the router manufacturer upgrades their own products. After all, not all product upgrade methods are the same. Don't wait until something goes wrong and regret it.
