How to determine UEFI/BIOS in Windows startup mode

To facilitate later viewing, we will summarize three methods, which are applicable to Win10, Win8.1, Win8, Win7, and Vista systems.

Method X:

When installing the operating system, the installer will collect some necessary information, and the startup method of the computer is one of them. Find the setupact. log file in the C: \ Windows \ Panther folder on your computer, open it in notepad, and search for Detected Boot Environment. Here you can see the system startup method.

When a friend finds this line of text from the dozens of MB log files, it is too much X.

The smartest way:

If you know the relationship between GPT and UEFI boot, you may know that if Windows wants to boot from the GPT hard disk, it must be started in UEFI mode (otherwise, it will not work ). Check the hard disk type in disk management. If it is GPT, the computer must have started UEFI. Open disk management, right-click the master disk, and if "convert to GPT disk" appears, the hard disk is of the MBR type; if "convert to MBR disk" is displayed, it indicates that the hard disk is of the GPT type (because it is a master hard disk, this is in the gray unavailable State ).

Experts use this method:

Note: This method is applicable to Win8 and later systems.

Press Win + R to start running, enter msinfo32, and press enter to view system information. If "traditional" is displayed in BIOS mode, the system startup mode is Legacy BIOS; if it is UEFI, UEFI is displayed.

Well, there is another method:

The system boot program files in the two startup modes are different. In the traditional mode, the start file is an exe program, and in the UEFI mode, the start file is an efi program. If you have installed Rubik's Cube (Click here to download), choose "soft media settings master"> "system settings"> "multi-system settings ", in the startup menu, you will see the complete path of the startup file. You can see it at the end of the file.
