How to disable the pre-read function of the system under XP system

Click the Start menu, click the Run item

Open Run dialog box type the "regedit" command, and click OK to open Registry Editor

Navigate to the following branch in the left window

Hkey_local_machinesystemcurrentcontrolsetcontrolsessionmanagermemorymanagementprefetchparameters

In the right window, double-click "Enableprefetcher" to open the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, modify the parameters in the value data to "0", click OK (the parameter is 0 to disable prefetching, the parameter is 1 for the pre-read application, and the parameter is 2 for the system to start prefetching). A parameter of 3 indicates a pre-read application and system boot prefetching.
